Warehouse Operations & 3PL Manager
ESP-Mataró (Barcelona)
As an Iberian Warehouse & 3PL Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable, efficient and cost-effective execution of warehouse and 3PL operations across Spain and Portugal. You will secure service continuity, inventory accuracy and operational performance, while managing the day-to-day relationship with external warehouse providers and driving continuous improvement across the Iberian logistics network.
The scope covers the Spain Central Warehouse (CWH), including the current operation and any future warehouse transition, as well as external logistics operations for the incontinence factory and logistics partners in Portugal. You will also oversee satellite logistics platforms supporting hospitals, nursing homes and ad-hoc solutions, where applicable.
In addition, you will support warehouse implementations, migrations and 3PL operating-model changes across Iberia, ensuring their accurate and effective execution.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Procurement and Supplier Management of category under
- Own and steer the day-to-day performance of warehouse and 3PL operations across Iberia, ensuring service levels, quality, capacity, productivity and operational continuity.
- Act as the main operational interface with 3PL and warehouse providers, managing performance, incidents, root-cause analysis, corrective actions and escalations.
- Define and monitor KPIs and SLAs, lead regular operational reviews and drive agreed improvement and cost-efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure inventory accuracy, stock integrity and process compliance, driving continuous improvement across receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping and returns.
- Promote standardisation, best practices and operational excellence across Iberian warehouse operations.
- Support warehouse tenders, provider assessments and operational due diligence, translating business needs into clear warehouse and 3PL requirements.
- Coordinate warehouse implementations, testing, transitions and stabilisation with internal teams and external providers.
- Work closely with Logistics Process / System Key Users on SAP, WMS, EDI and digital solutions, ensuring processes are documented, implemented and consistently followed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Transportation, Customer Service, Planning, Quality, Procurement, Finance and the business to ensure effective logistics execution.
- Provide operational input to customer tenders, cost-to-serve calculations and logistics business cases, and support major service or provider escalations.
- Ensure compliance with HARTMANN quality standards, regulatory requirements, audit controls and safety standards, promoting safe and sustainable warehouse operations.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution or 3PL operations, ideally in an international environment.
- Strong experience managing outsourced logistics / 3PL providers and medium-to-large warehouse operations.
- Experience in warehouse implementations, migrations, tenders or transformation projects.
- Experience in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceutical, FMCG or other regulated environments is a plus.
- Good knowledge of WMS, ERP and SAP; understanding of warehouse cost drivers and productivity.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
